Frequently asked questions.

  • Yes! John covers ceremonies within Canterbury as well (travel & accommodation extra). See more on this under the Fees page.

  • We can show you several examples to get ideas to get you started and discuss what it is that you would like to say.

  • Head to the Fees page for more.

  • We will cover:
    - where everyone will stand
    - who will have the rings
    - who will be reading during the ceremony (if this is taking place) and have a run through of the order of service.

  • John's fee includes an initial meeting (generally over coffee) or phone or Skype. During this time he'll cover off the legal requirements, ideas/suggestions (if need be for your big day). Next will be follow-up to ensure everything is ready and documented for the ceremony. Before the big day a rehearsal will take place for a run-through and then of course the ceremony on the actual day.
See more on the Fees page.

  • If approved, the licence will be issued not sooner than three calendar days after it is submitted to a Registrar of Marriages. The licence is valid for three months from the date of issue.

  • Sharing similar values as John, Tony Simpson is a fellow celebrant who shares time with John. Together they work on their professional development as celebrants, share their work load when they are unable to be available for a couple and importantly can act as a “Back-up Celebrant” for each other if ever there was need to.
Tony, like John, is a family orientated and keen outdoors man, so for those ceremonies in the bush, in the mountains, on the lakes and rivers he will truly understand your desires to share in our beautiful country and the pleasure and memories such locations bring.
